I was married to a woman I loved, and I was doing things that were just stupid and destructive and selfish and harmful to her and harmful to my family. And that's what I'm focused on.

I had a lot of time to reflect on the mistakes that I made, the ways that I hurt my wife and my family, the ways that I embarrassed my constituents and the ways that I let down the people who had put their trust in me.

I said that I had engaged in some inappropriate communications and I had sent some inappropriate pictures. And that's what I did.

I deeply regret the fact that I engaged in this kind of conduct. I regret that I lied about it. I regret the pain that I have caused my wife, Huma, and my family.

I'm not going to be a victim here. I'm not going to be a pariah. I'm going to fight for the people of New York.

I know that I have made mistakes. I know that I have embarrassed myself and my family. But I also know that I have a lot to offer.
