It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.

Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed!

Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.

Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Take heed that you do not perform your righteousness before men to be seen by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father in heaven.

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?

Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.

I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they utter.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

And if your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

For all who draw the sword will die by the sword.

But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort.

And if your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.
